Join one of our most beautiful excursions where you will have the opportunity to explore the unique landscape of the Nemea, one of Greece’s best wine regions. Situated in the northeastern part of the Peloponnese, only a few hours away from Athens, Nemea is an ideal destination for a half/full day excursion during your stay in Greece. This is a mythical land full of ancient temples and sanctuaries, a place that hosts Greece’s oldest vineyards giving birth to some of the best and world famous wines. Nemea is also where one of the most venerable myths of ancient Greece took place, the slaying of the Nemean Lion, known also as of the first labor of the demigod Hercules.
This is a unique opportunity for anyone who wants to explore the best wine region of Greece but also to know more about its culture and history. Based on your interests and availability, you can adjust this beautiful experience choosing one the below three different versions:
1. Half Day Nemea tour - 5 hours

This tour is mostly for wine lovers who want to visit one of the best wine regions of Greece and taste the local varieties.
2. Extended Half Day Nemea tour - 6 hours

2-hour tour + wine tasting at a selected winery of Nemea.
Visit to Ancient Corinth or Ancient Nemea area.
This version combines both wine and culture as you have the opportunity to visit Ancient Corinth which was one of the largest and most important cities of Greece. Alternatively, you can visit Ancient Nemea, a place famous for one of the most prestigious athletic celebrations, the Panhellenic Nemean Games.
3. Full Day Nemea tour - 9 hours

2-hour tour + wine tasting at a selected winery of Nemea.

Exploration of the city of Nafplio
Lunch break
The extended version of the tour includes Nafplio, the first capital and one of the most beautiful cities of modern Greece. During this tour you will have enough time to stroll around the picturesque streets of Nafplio and enjoy a lunch at a Greek taverna by the sea.

Deposit
In order to confirm the booking, we ask for a 80€ and the balance will be paid in cash during the day of the tour. Within 24 hours from your booking request, you are going to receive a PayPal link where you can pay the deposit and proceed to the confirmation.
Good to know
*The Driver is not permitted by law to enter the Archaeological Sites/Museums with the clients. Only Licensed Tour Guides are allowed to do so. If you wish such an additional service, we can book a Licensed Tour Guide for you in advance with an extra cost of €200 for a Half-Day Tour, €250 for an Extended Half-Day Tour and €300 for a Full-Day Tour. The amount should be paid to the driver in cash.
Note that if you choose to hire a licensed tour guide, this person will be added to the total number of passengers and this might affect the type of vehicle used and subsequently the price of the service.
The sequence of the sites mentioned in the itineraries may be subject to change, due to reasons beyond our control.

Description
A road trip to Cape Sounio is an amazing scenic drive along the coastline, the famous Athenian Riviera. Standing at the very top of Cape Sounio, the photogenic temple of Poseidon is considered a masterpiece of the golden age of Athens and one of the most spectacular templesall over Greece. If you choose to do the tour in the afternoon (instead of the suggested morning time), you will see one of the most beautiful sunsets, with the sun washing the sky in reds, pinks and oranges as it sets into the sea.
During our drive towards Cape Sounio you will have the opportunity to experience the seashore firsthand while you admire the amazing views. Athens is actually one the few cities in Europe with such a long coastline within the greater metropolitan area. In the extended version of this tour (9h) visitors will also have the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful clear waters of the sea as a stop for swimming and relaxing at one of the picturesque beaches found along the way is included in the schedule. The participants of both HD and FD tour will also visit the Vouliagmeni lake with its massive cave systems, a hidden treasure of Attica's nature. This hot-springs-fed lake, situated just a few meters away from the sea, is set dramatically against a huge jutting offering a landscape of unique beauty to all visitors.
There are several myths and legends about the Cape Sounio and the temple of Poseidon. Whether the stories related to this place are real or just myths, there is no doubt that once you visit the area you will feel the gloriousness of the site and enjoy one of the most spectacular views of the Aegean Sea.
