"I took part in the 'Make your Own Souvenir Workshop' and I created a lovely figurine that I took with me back home to New Delhi! The instructors were really helpful to me since it was my first ever pottery class. I would definitely do that again as it was a unique experience that I've never seen before in any of the countries I've visited so far!" Lakshay B., India
"This was one of the best activities we have ever done on vacation. We have been to Athens many times, seen all the museums and shopping, which we love and return many times to see. But this class gave us an opportunity to experience a side of Greece which we have never found before. It was a quiet escape from the noise to explore art with local residents.“ Travis, Hawaii
"My friend and I attended this amazing opportunity and had an brilliant time crafting a pot and a figurine out of clay. Catherine led us through the steps of preparing the clay, forming our objects and decorating them in a very worthwhile 2.5 hours. We would fully recommend this activity to anyone else travelling to Athens!” Bronte, Australia
"My wife attended this workshop together with our 9-year-old son. They had a great time; expect to meet lovely locals, kind and very friendly hosts, who know very well their work. You should try this experience when in Athens! Highly recommended!“ Claudiu, Romania

Take part in our interactive workshop and get to know the traditional art of weaving. Learn how to use a loom and create your own masterpiece inspired by the Greek Folk Art.
This experience brings the art of weaving to life starting from wool and ending with textiles. This weaving workshop starts with a tour of a permanent exhibition inside a studio located in the heart of Athens, during which you will be given useful information on the use of obsolete tools, commonly used in Greek antiquity. The instructor will describe the process in which the wool becomes a thread in order to be woven.
Next, you will watch a short film that will travel you to the Greek countryside, where you will see how the locals cut and prepare wool, while you enjoy coffee, tea, and Greek delicacies. The film elaborates on the whole procedure from end-to-end, a necessary step before you start working on the loom.
This experiential workshop is a hands-on activity, so afterwards you will use all your creativity and skills in order to create your own masterpiece on the loom under the guidance of a professional experienced instructor.
The workshop is suitable for both children and adults, families, small groups or individuals. You will work with natural ecological materials. Learning is realized in all different kinds of looms (frame, traditional and modern). During this activity, you’ll be surrounded by beautifully crafted pieces—carpets, pillows, traditional bags, handbags, and jewelry—all inspired by Greece’s rich and timeless weaving traditions from every corner of the country.
